this is my nearest pub to work (by about 4yards! we have the White Bear, and the Red Lion in dead close proximity too) but the Mansion House was always my favourite. However, it shut down at the end of last summer i think, and has been closed since

I heard 2nd hand from the bar manager that it just didn't make sense to open in the winter - no trade - but that the owner, who also owns the Hermits Cave, apparently - could afford to let it sit there. Which seemed absurd.

Then a while ago, metal shutters went up and it looked closed for good, until a few days ago when the shutters came off and i saw people in there.

So, does anybody know if it's reopening, and if it's changed hands?

it's a decent pub considering where it is and i'd like to get in there again.

Can't help with this one sorry, cos I don't know, but can I ask, is that the pub with which Shepherd Neame (the Kent brewery) were involved?

If so, twas the best one in that stretch of road IMO when it was open. Not just for beer but that did help.

no idea, i never look at those sorts of things. It sold Oranjeboom, that's all i know. And Jagermeister. These two things were sufficient to ensure my continued custom

Good advice to both Dub and me that -- but I'll have a look (re the beer thing) when I next go past :)
