Err, no thanks.

We live just round the corner from there, and like it a lot. You're near the park, and a ten minute walk from both Herne Hill and Brixton, so have the best of both worlds imho. Mayall Road (where we live) is a lovely street, with a real community atmosphere.

However, there are problems with living on Shakespeare Rd itself. It's a bit of a rat-run for people going down to Coldharbour Lane, for a start, and the lack of controlled parking means it's a bit of a nightmare, traffic-wise. Plus you've got the rubbish depot there, so lots of lorries rumbling past at six o'clock in the morning. However, the depot is being converted into a school, hopefully, so that may soon be a thing of the past.

Zora, bluestreak and boohoo have just moved in very close by as well, so it's urbanites a go-go round here at the moment!

PS I'm assuming that you're talking about the bit of Shakespeare Rd that runs down to Loughborough Junction, rather than the bit which goes up to the park -- is that the case?

That was a flippant comment, based on how these threads often end up. Wasn't trying to be sniffy or dismissive.

Often, many of the people who live in this sort of postcode will live in crowded flats in multi-ethnic areas. These are known as type 56 in the ACORN classification and 1.04% of the UK’s population live in this type.

Neighbourhoods fitting this profile are almost exclusively found in London, in areas like Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Southwark. The only other place with significant numbers outside of London is central Birmingham.

Here is an overview of the likely preferences and features of your neighbourhood:

Family income Low
Interest in current affairs Very high
Housing - with mortgage Very low
Educated - to degree Medium
Couples with children Medium
Have satellite TV Low
