it's like this: on thursday night i move all my belongings into my new flat. however i can't move myself in 'til sunday. on saturday and sunday night i am away for a friend's wedding. so what are lil and i to do? all the usual cat-sitting suspects are away :(
can anyone look after her between thursday night and monday morning? she's housetrained, aloof, neutered, doesn't really like cats, dogs or children very much, makes an adorable meeping noise when she wants to talk to you, and is generally a darling.
it would be really cool if someone in the area who i know would take her (and possibly me too) for a couple of days, otherwise i'll have to take her out to east london and i don't think she'd ever forgive me if i took her on a train.

might be able to help - we're actually away friday morning until sunday night but you'd be welcome to borrow the flat on friday night.
Only problem is that Lil would be on her own from whenever you left on saturday until I got in on sunday night - around 9pm. Is that too long for her - would she be upset on her own and break things/shit in our bed???
Also - what about food during that period?
Then she'd be on her own again from monday morning until I get back from work when you can come and drop the keys and get her.
I'm only asking these things as I don't know about cats really - I like them but don't know them :o :)

to reiterate what Pony Face said - if you think using our place will work, it's all yours.. you know cats better than we do.
she might sleep on your bed PieEye ;)
I think she probably does already, they clearly do whatever the hell they like those beasts :D

I'd offer, but we only move in on Thursday night and it might be a bit traumatic for her..
that's a bit useless then isn't it Filter?

I'd offer but I live in North London. Still, it's the thought that counts :)

You're not much better, Jimmy No-one Home.

Is that an insult? Anyway - stop derailing this!
Bleu - it could work like this - I give you Dub's keys on thursday and you give them back to me on monday evening - you can come and go as you please. As you say - it's the little one being on her own that could be a bit stressful for her - and if she's destructive when bored......
Let me know :)

I'd be happy to normally but I don't think my cat would like it :(
Hey, only just saw this - bluestreak, pieeye, dub, I reckon she'd be alright for that length of time by herself, obviously as long as she's got food/water/a litter tray. She's pretty solitary, she'd probably wander round smelling stuff for a bit then go to sleep. Thanks so much for the offer! :D
In the past she's been destructive when stressed (notably by other cats) but not when bored or when stressed by moving etc (bored = sleep & wandering, exploring, stressed by moving = hiding, generally). So I don't think she would do anything particularly annoying, but it's not impossible cause she doesn't listen to what I say when I'm there, let alone here.

I thought the whole point of cats was that they look after themselves if you dissapear for a few days ?

They need feeding and they need attention - only a cunt would fuck off for a few days leaving a cat to its own devices. Unfortunately, a lot of people do.

If they love catching lil mice n stuff so much they can live off them for a few days surely ?
And bollox do cats need attention. Most of em run away all the time when you make a move towards them (scaredy cats) They only come up to you and start harrasing you when they cant be bothered to catch their own grub and fancy some whiskers for a change.

I met Lil the other day... she's  makes the weirdest squeaky noise though :D
Well I'm happy to have her if she's ok with +24hrs on her bill - and Bluestreak can play with Dub's record collection and eat all our food :D

sounds good to me. she does need attention and i'd feel bad leaving her on her own for what will probably be about 30 hours but it doesn't sound like she'll be traumatised. i'll gis you a call later pieface
now, anyone want a hippy and a cat on thursday night?

Mine has never caught a mouse cos she has a little bell on her collar - she wouldn't be able to catch one even without the bell.
And they do need attention - you're talking out of your arse if you think they don't.
if we had been here you would ahve been more than welcome, but we're away and i dunno who'd come off worse if she had a set to with nemo. her i suspect :o

I live across the road and we have mice and I'm in this weekend. :)
Dunno though, would have to check with Choc and our other flatmate - and BA would definitely be mean to her and call her satan.
Don't think you could stay though - I already have one randomite :p living in my house at the moment.

It's not chaos, it's differently organised. :p
Bluestreak would very much like to take you up on your offer;
plus if it's okay with you two, Blue and I might arrange for some more key-swapping so that I can come round on sunday and check up on Lil and spend some time with her.
Your help's much appreciated.
And from me too - thanks so fucking much, pie, blues, dub, zora, everyone - I owe you all numerous pints.
