i just got a load of money in so of course the first thing i did was head down to my local shop to buy some sake and lo and behold being their main purchaser of rice wine i now get a discount ... it's not much 50p off per bottle but it's nice to know
Always nice to be appreciated. Then again, with where I live, I'm never going to get that sort of discount on the sake from the japanese food shop that is my closest local shop
I've never had sake but while I'm in the big city  I can probably find these things when I couldn't where I lived before :) is it nice?

TBH it's not a taste that people generally take to on first try! I used to drink lots of it, but generally when i was already drunk on "chuhai" - which is fortified sake flavoured with lime/lemon or whatever - and too drunk to care. It has as many permatations as wine though and I may have been too young to really appreciate that at the time. Young Japanese people generally prefer beer.
