Over the past 6 months they have been doing up a shop at on Coldharbour Lane @ LJ. They finished it (to quite high standards, def didn't look like another fried chicken place) a couple of months ago and since then it has been shuttered up. Just walked past, no shutters and its got 'Gaia' etched into the window. No other clues as to what it will be though, anyone know?

I've heard it's a domestic violence unit, or something like that...
Deliberately very low key.

I took a closer look and funnily enough I thought it must be something like that as it has very good security (keypads and swipe cards) and frosted windows. Hope it helps

I was told once that it was going to be another cop shop, like the one on Colharbour Lane. But no evidence of it......

Last I heard it was going to be a 'community station' one stop shop for police, council and neighbourhood affairs. I've been wondering what 'Gaia' has to do with all that too...

'Gaia' is goddess of the earth according to google so I'd say domestic violence unit sounds correct.

On the ground floor it's a help and advice centre for women, especially those who have been subjected to distress . The upper floors are occupied by the met and local community Police Ofiicers. Not sure why there isn't any signage.

There is a new Brixton Net Update page (http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/AboutLambeth/BrixtonNetUpdate.htm)on Lambeth's website which includes this:
Services for women affected by domestic violence
The Lambeth Gaia Centre provides confidential services to support women affected by domestic violence. The Centre is run in partnership with a number of Lambeth-based statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations and users will only deal with female staff.

Services on offer include emotional support and referrals for counselling, legal advice, housing and benefits advice, and immigration advice. A specialist Portuguese worker is also available. The centre is open from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. The address is confidential so all referrals or agencies will need to contact the centre first.
