Me and a load of mates will be in Ganleys to watch the match tomorrow afternoon, most will be Hammers but there will be Pool fans there as well,so if you want a good time with piss taking but no shit,it seems like the place to be.

Alternately, there appears to be a sizable Liverpool contingent going to the Hob... take yer pick... ;)
I am going to the Hob.
I think that's all you need to know ;)

Well that's the last time I bother going to the Hob for a game or, for that matter, owt else other than the comedy. 10 minutes before the match, no back room, not enough staff, a "big screen" which was more like a brown bed sheet, with the visibility of looking through tar, and one, tiny 17" TV that wasn't even tuned in properly.
What a fucking shambles. No wonder the place does rubbish business these days. Fortunately, still had enough time to get to Ganleys before kick off, where there were more screens than you could shake a stick at.
Great game though, eh?
Tragic
Fucking scousers stole a game they really didn't desreve

Another way to say it is that Steve Gerrard just doesn't know when he's lost.
Ask AC Milan.
You may hate scousers, but that personality quirk of Gerrard's might come in handy in a week or two.

West Ham made me proud.Cisse is a great goal scorer and a cheating cunt.
I hope Gerrard plays that well for England.
That was the best final for years and a shame the wrong team won:eek:

As the great Bobby Moore said"win or lose on the booze",and he never had to dive or deliberately handball to win a game.
Cisse is a cheating cunt

Absolutely... great atmosphere, loads of opposing fans chatting, laughing, backslapping, and at the end, consoling. As a neutral it made for a very entertaining afternoon. Best FA cup final I can remember, to be sure!
And I loved the fact that they still managed to have two small screens in the conservatory for the two Gretna fans watching the Scottish Cup Final.
I was at Ganley's last night as well and the good atmosphere continued.
Did anyone see the sign outside the Dog Star yesterday advertising the footie saying "Some northern team v. some team from east London"?
What class :)

Was a blinding game wasn't it. Far be it for me to criticise too much, particularly as we spent over 6 hours drunkenly screen staring from the big table by the door, but the Hob needs to get sharpen up with sports. It's getting busy again in there lately, but the screens almost seem an afterthought at the moment.
In mitigation, the new man's on trial and he's probably dealing with pre-arranged staff budgets. Even so, I suspect that he's not the world's biggest sport fan. Shit screen quality aside (no idea why they didn't open the back room this time around, but it has been used as bouncer training Saturday ams recently) it did get a little better just before the game - they dragged staff down from upstairs and got service moving. They need to sort it out for the World Cup - I've had some fine moments in there over the years, not least when clutching bacon rolls and pints for those morning games. After watching a Arsenal game in the library of the Effra recently, you realise just how boisterous and sociable the Hob can be for the big games. Only Ganley's really comes close - the Man City games were damn good in there.
Still, a fine atmosphere and a blinding game nonetheless. Ideas of going out Saturday night faded after far too much beer...
