i was expecting to find a thread already here :o

just walked through brixton and theres a massive refridgerated lorry parked o/s woolies surrounded by police  according to the people on the pavement 'nobody dead' - the police just pounced on the lorry.

its shut southbound from st johns cres to kfc. northbound is open and so are the pavements and the tube.

all odd.

lol

i found this

ROAD CLOSED DUE TO ACCIDENT OUTSIDE BRIXTON TUBE STATION - TRAFFIC BEING DIVERTED INTO STOCKWELL ROAD BY THE POLICE. SOURCE : CCTV IMAGE. UPDATED: 25/04/2006 16:32:42

which is odd cos the lorry didnt appear to have any damage, there were no other vehicles and no detritus. the lorry hadnt gone into the railings or anything.

Probably a RTA, with someone injured, maybe the lorry is a bit unroadworthy and the cops need to investigate it further.

I went past about 5.30. It was like the RTS day - loads of people walking about.

Yesterday I had to go to Nationwide to collect up my new Debit Card to replace the one that was pickpocketed so I went to bus stop near Police Station as it was obvious no traffic was going to go through Brixton. The bus went up Stockwell Road, past Clapham North and Clapham Common, up Clapham Park Road and on to Acre Lane and then on to the Hill. Took over 1/2 hour

Then I heard that someone had apparently sprinted over the central barrier in Brixton and got hit by a lorry :(

oh fair enough - it must've happened ages before i got there then cos there wasnt any sign of ambulances or the usual pile of detritus they leave. no sign of the driver just an abandoned lorry and lots of plod.

Don't know whether that's correct though, just hearsay.
