has anyone lived on, or know anything about what it's like to live on the elmington estate in camberwell, it's just off the camberwell road, near burgess park

anything you know, good or bad, would be interesting to hear about

I used to live there a long time ago. It was grim. But it may have changed :)

what sort of grim? which bit did you live in?

do you know anything about kipling house, it's the block on the camberwell road?

I lived in Dobson House - on the 5th floor. I got mugged by kids, broken into at least annually and a bloke got beaten to death with a baseball bat under my block. And my neighbour was a paedophile wife-beater. :(

But that was a long time ago. The Camberwell Road end was always better than the Southampton Way end. And isn't Kipling a little block? The little ones aren't as bad.

yeah, kipling is quite a small block, and it's right on the main road, with a proper door to the block, it'd be a great place to live as long as it isn't really scary or infested with mice or roaches, those are the main things i'd worry about as they make living anywhere horrible

Not aware of the Elmington I'm afraid.

Can't think that that part of Camberwell Road is THAT bad nowadays, though.

But avoid the Castle -- I mean the grim grotty pub opposite the end of Bowyer Road, not the Castle in Camberwell Church Street, which is :cool:

The Camberwell Road Castle is practically unenterable, exceeded in vileness only by the Silver Buckle.
