Just wondering ... we seem to have quite a few new Scottish people popping up in here and I wondered roughly where you all are (like, city/town) :)

there is an ulterior motive ... to sorta gauge whether it's possible we could ACTUALLY have a meet up, you see :)

Me? Dunfermline :)

Next! ;)

Going through there tonight and apparently I am being dragged off to some pricy overrated reggae night at the Doghouse ;)

The city has already been extended to the way it currently is. The city square(in front of the Cairdie) used to be the harbour, about 600 years ago. The church in front of the Overgate and the one beside the Wellgate are both about 600yrs old.

When I was at school our basketball team used to play Armadale in some league or another. All the players had "dale" across the back above their squad numbers. Confused the fuck out of me I tell ya.

I should really go to bed shouldn't I?

Although a medal for impeccable drunken typing would be nice

Originally from Glasgow, lived in Grangemouth for a while, Stirling for a year, Glasgow again for another year and a bit.

Now I live in Brooklyn, but I still post on the Scottish board sometimes.

Since we appear to have some new people around, it only seemed polite to introduce myself.

If you get off the train at the station for Prestwick International Airport, you're just through a walkway and you're there

Dead easy, the airport now has a dedicated halt with walkways. Prior to that, you were best to get a taxi from Ayr cos the buses were awful.

By Train
Glasgow Prestwick International is the only airport in Scotland served by its own railway station. The half-hourly (hourly on Sundays) ScotRail service to and from Glasgow Central station takes just over 40 minutes.

Buses much better now. Express service (X77) from Buchanan st down the M77 takes about 40 minutes and they go right to the terminal door. half hourly, mon sat, every couple of hours on a sunday, I think.

I'm living in Oban, fancy a meetup sometime. Maybe a few games of pool in the Loch, although Markie Dan's is probably a better pub, I'm barred from it  You'll obviously know about the magnificent sunsets, so maybe a couple of spliffs up Battleship Hill
