Finally found out yesterday what's happening with the former telly repair shop.
It's going to be a bakery! Should open in around a week's time, according to the very friendly new owner. Makes a change from fried chicken and pizza.
Hope it does better than the last bakery on the Hill, which is now a 24-hour shop.

Sorry, hadn't seen your post. Just typed on an old post :o So it IS a bakers? Are we going to be having fishy tasting bread then?
Brilliant news then (unless it's a Jamaican bakery - no slur on the Jamaican bakeries but I don't really like their heavy white loaves)

and a crap 24hr shop at that - but it was a bakery for a long time, i went to primary school with their son
Hooray, I love bakeries especially independent ones.
Is it the Eritrean guy who owns the Cafe/Internet thingy a few doors south?
Makes sense as when he had the much-missed restaurant across the road, people travelled far and wide for thet bread that looks a flat crumpet.
