After storming set at our New Year's Eve party with VINYL JUNKIES (picture gallery here: http://www.vinyl-junkies.com/) HKB FINN returns for his monthly Organix night followed by the reggae extravaganza that is Catch a Fire on Sunday night. A very happy new year to all...

Sat 7 Jan – Organix feat HKB Finn
After several guest slots for DJ Eric Soul’s Afrogroov night here at the Ritzy, HKB Finn and friends established themselves as a monthly regular (first Sat of the month). DJs Miss Good Grooves and Adroit play broken flavours, Afro-beats, atmospheric Latin grooves with a live performance from spoken word artist HKB FiNN featuring Tunde Jegede on kora and percussion and Sona on Acoustic Guitar and vocals.
With a varied background that spans life in various parts of the African diaspora and stints fronting two metal bands, the legendary rap group Katch 22 and working with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Finn has come into his own as a solo artist. His last album topped the MOJO list of Urban Albums of the Year and received a 5-star review in the Times.
”He’s not just one of the guys from mid 90’s group, Katch 22, he’s not just a labelmate with Def Tex and a hip-hop soldier from way back. He is an intelligent soulful brother with oodles of information on the history of African music and the connotations of slavery filtering down through the ages into the information age. HKB Finn is a true-skool rapper, an inspiration to listen to” UK Hip-Hop

Would have liked to, but the OP came at a little bit too short notice for me to change plans and persuade others out.

I've got fond memories of Huntkillbury from many, many years back - I think 'Burial Proceedings in the course of 3 knights' was the first ever record I bought on Music Of Life...
