Has anyone else noticed that a lot of late night eateries seem to be closing a lot earlier than they used to? Twice in the past week I have been looking forward to a late night kebab, but everywhere seems to be shutting at 3am. Means that you have to lave clubs early if you want a feed before you go back to drinking :(

i'm not liking that tagline.

licencing laws changed a while back on this i think, but i think some of the places just ignored it, maybe the laws are getting enforced more tightly now.

total pub talk to be honest, but i think its something like that.

If you are sober enough to sit still, there is always the human chimp's tea party that is Dario's...

True, but even they seem to be closing earlier than they used to. A bunch of tourists came past my work a few weeks back looking for somewhere to get soime food, so we sent them there figuring it was the only place that was guaranteed to be open (it was about 2:30am on a Friday night). Then came past my work the folling night and complained because it had been closed.

It's a sad state of affairs if a guy can't get fed after leaving a club :(

That place on North bridge opposite the tron was open last saturday at 3:30am.

I had a pretty damn tasty pizza.

Pizza Pradise. :)

Piccantes at the top of Broughton Street tends to be open very late. Or early.

All this talk of food at 3.00am leaves me a bit bewildered. On our most recent festival trip, we were bewildered... being Laaandaners and all that, the idea of going drinking until say 11 and then going to a restuarant isn't all that strange.

On the odd occasion we tried going "early", e.g. 7pm, everywhere was full. Then it seemed like everyone had "had their dinner" by about 8. We'd walk past restuarants at 9 and they'd be empty, lights off by 10. Later on we ended up eating in some spectacularly manky places touting as proper "sit downs". And then in contrast actually were quite drunkenly impressed with the takeaway place we stumbled across at 3.00am where they had a DJ. (Somewhere near the top of Leith Walk?).

Is it London that's being "different" here, or is it Edinburgh? I suppose eating early before the drinking is probably the right way round.

Piccantes is ace. They do spirits out of optics and deep fried mars bars at 2am.
