Holy Shit - I didn't even hear that someone had been stabbed in Poundstretcher, but the the victim has today been identified as the old lady I used to live upstairs from on Ninian Rd  :(

Jesus, thats mental. I had been wondering lately if she was still alive, I hadn't seen her since I moved out a year ago.

Probably one of the most shocking things I've ever heard locally, An old woman, in the day, it really hits home.

There is a mental health issue...ths person is as mad as a box of frogs...but the mental health system has failed her... I know this first hand, I cannot disclose how or why...though I am not sticking up for the person in any way.

Given that from whats 'known' the victim was just queing quietly to pay for her shopping I;d presumed it was a given :(
So so sad
KBT must be one hell of a shock :(

Apparently the woman who did it was living at the Sally Army hostel until recently and has alcohol/drug problems.

Shame people needing psychiatric care have to murder someone to get the treatment they need...

John Charles Rees QC, defending, said Hancock's actions were caused by her mental illness.

He said: "Looking at the history of her illness, when she has made cries for help and when she has been to institutions, it is clear the system let her down.

I hope the family do get their inquiry. There are people/a system and failings to bame for this situation occuring in the first place. Lets hope changes can come from this, sadly though Im not optomistic.
