I want to go to Brighton in a couple of weeks for my birthday. A few times I've managed to get a posh-ish hotel room via spawny routes such as seeing a v good internet deal, or just booking at last minute.

Other than the big companies like lastminute.com does anyone know if there's any decent discount last minute website room brokers? I've tried through google, but it just brings up the big name chains...

I could just wing it I suppose, but I don't want to chance it either. Any suggestions?

Stayed in the Grovesner recently for J42 a night for a double room. That was with www.hoteladvice.com

There is a thing (ah, duh, webpage thingee) called Priceline where you specify an area (for your hotel) and a price you are willing to pay, then make a bid and they see if they can find anything for you... Don't know if it's available in Brighton... I live(d) there so never needed a hotel.

Think it's www.priceline.co.uk or .com

Prices will be coming down now coz it's cold and out of season now...

Good luck

Once I find a hotel that I like online at a good price, I put the hotel name into Google and check the price on several different websites that have come up in the search. Last time I did this I got the room for £70 instead of £250.
