chilango
09-09-2005, 15:03
kiribati or Tuvulu or somesuch.

chilango
09-09-2005, 15:04
although in june i reckon Svalbard would be more accurate.

and in december maybe the South Sandwich islands.

But I`m being picky, no?

A bit too picky - but none of them are what I think it is.

Perhaps I should have worded the question "Which islands do I think ..."

In the USA, which states are the most northernly, southernly, eastern and western?

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:24
Is anyone right yet, then Nick??

Anyway answering the other question:

Northern - Alaska
Southern - Haiwi
Western - Alaska
Eastern - Alaska

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:25
I am pressuming there is some sort of trick to the question. I suppose it depends where you take east and west to be on the globe.

C'mon Shanksy where yer question?

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:44
Right, I can see this one being a bit iffy, but here we go.

List 4 countries which are partly in Europe and partly in another continent. Foreign terrotries don't count.

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:45
I know im going to get complaints at this one. :D

Two are obvious, one a little less and one very debatable.

DrRingDing
10-09-2005, 00:49
Russia
Turkey
Armenia
Georgia

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:51
Well, I've always though Armenia and Georgia as totally in Europe.

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:52
And yes I know they do sit directly above Asiatic Turkey.

DrRingDing
10-09-2005, 00:54
It's all about the Ural's ;)

DrRingDing
10-09-2005, 00:55

Does that mean I win?

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:56
Yeah I know. Anyway keep guessing, you'll get there eventually seeing as your the only one playing.

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 00:57

Shanksy

DrRingDing
10-09-2005, 01:04

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 01:05

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 01:16
YEAH! :)

Well seeing as it lies over the border of the European and North American tectonic plates I make it partly, if not mostly (judging by the plates) in North America.

Mind you I dont know if many others do.

DrRingDing
10-09-2005, 01:16

Shanksy

Thats why I said any other continent rather than just being in both Europe and Asia.

Shanksy
10-09-2005, 01:18
I think it is kinda more fun when there is more than one person trying to guess.

DrRingDing
10-09-2005, 01:20
The highest 'Village' in the world?

So what is the highest Village as defined as having a drivable road and water and electric.

I want the height, the ethnic group of the people (including religion), the name of the area and the closest neighbouring country.

Thats all

Shanksy

Have a look at a map of the world in the pages of an atlas, which state is the furthest on the left handside of the pages; Alaska right? Now, which state is the first one one you come to on the right handside, Alaska again!

Obviously this rather arrogantly pressumes that UK is the centre of the world, but as I understand most atlas' put the nation which they are being made for in the centre of a world map.

Shanksy
13-09-2005, 15:33
ie. pants :p
