Anyone been ? Any tips ? Trying to do things on the cheap. Arrive in Ponta Delgada Saturday night and want to get some cheap accomodation. Plan to see several of the islands and do some diving whale watching etc.

Any advice gladly accepted. Thanks.

Yes as part of a work trip, so was only there a couple of days. Although not that popular with british tourists there are plenty of scandinavians etc. there is a tourist information office in town and they should be able to point in the right direction as to what to do. The caldera are supposed to be quite impressive. I don't think the night life is supposed to be amazing but there are some pleasant enough bars etc in town
