I walked past the Hob this morning on the way to the doc and saw they were filming. If I'd had time I was going to ask if anybody knew what it was all about.
Gwynnie eh? Wooooh.

From another site - quite amusing what they have to say about the local boozer . .
''Gwyenth Paltrow
is filming in the scummiest pub in Brixton, The Hobgoblin.

brixton is full of oxford-educated lawyers ****
and Eastern European girls. I'd have thought it would be "right up your aisle"

I'll tell you this for free
The Hobgoblin is in no way the scummiest pub in Brixton

Too right ''

Still got her knickers in me coat pocket.
Honest.

Apparently it's her and that Murphy girl. Was gossiping yesterday over a swift post-work pint and watching them rapidly trying to transform the back bar.
The Hob's apparently even fully closed tonight which, given that it's an international footie night, suggests that some serious shoot buckaroos have been paid.
it's one way of getting the place re-decorated again I suppose. Wonder if they'll finally sort out the loos for the actors...

Well for a big star like gwynnie they might push the boat out....and put a light bulb in :D
No loo roll though of course, and she'll have to wear a gas mask but I suppose you can't have everything :D
i'd hate it if gwyneth gets bog roll... :)

There's blackout curtains up all round the Hob - imagine how hot it is in there!
Oh, and the production vehicles are attracting many parking tickets in Morval Road... :p

That's their contribution to the local economy. :D Plus buying a few mexican things at the hob.

Its definitely open on Friday night coz my mate is djing in the back room. Could be interesting as I suspect it will still look like a film set! :)

That DJs a weird choice isn't he. One second he's pumping out banging trance like a festering Quaver, the next and James Blunt's whining away. Either way and the garden seems to get a little busier every time he's on.
we had a run in a month or so ago with a very dodgy dj... think it might have been early in the week tho not sure. Too cold to sit outside so we left.

Actually you may be right. I'm sure the dj I'm talking about is on Tuesdays, or at least he was this week.
Fairly squat looking fella, big selection of cds in flight case, wearing what are best described as lightweight walkman-style headphones. Almost looks like he's stumbled off the street and is having a good hearted crack on the (cd) decks. Sounds like it too - a real old mish mash, with some decent numbers hidden amongst a load of loud dross.

Were you there when they had karaoke? :D
It was classic - the song book was only about 3 pages thick and every song seemed to be by Celine Dion, the beatles or Rod Stewart.
Hardly fitting for the hobgoblin crew (but it made us all laugh anyway) :D
