I'm just back from the caucas paradise of armenia and now I have to go to god-cursed germany...
but whatever...
Frankfurt-Oder ... near Poland... what's it like?
I know western germany and I hear things about the east... is there anything that should be said?
and you missed the oppurtunity for impressing everyone by contributing here (http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=128762) ;)

Germany is not god cursed but Frankfurt/Oder.........
Nip over the river for cheaper fags in Poland, EUR 2 as opposed to 4.

The soil should be well drained and mildly acidic (pH of 6.5 is ideal).
...oh, sorry.

the only good think about frankfurt oder is that it's close to berlin. you'll get here quickly.
frankfurt oder is widely known to be a proper shit hole.

www.bahn.de and look for off-peak tickets, you'll probaly get all of the State of Brandenburg and Berlin for under EUR 20 a day. Walk over the river to Slubice and Poland is before you.

You could visit this (http://www.oekospeicher.de/index_eng.htm) which is within easy cycling distance (we used to cycle to Frankfurt-Oder when I was staying there & I am a very crap cyclist).
About 12 years ago, I helped to build that wooden ufo thing - AFAIK it was supposed to rotate to follow the sun's rays or something  , but it doesn't, as this wasn't allowed under German planning regs.
Otherwise, as already mentioned, its close to Berlin & handy for Poland.

No my dear. There is nothing much that needs to be said.
I hope you have a wonderful time and that you will be met with the same spirit that you are going with!
Weren't seven dead babies found buried in a flower bed in Frankfurt/Oder last month?!
