i'm hoping to go there for a week later in the year and i wondered if anyone could recommend a hostelry to visit.

Depends where you are. I was in Uig a few times recently & found the pub by the pier good. Not the prettiest place in town but most of the folk drinking there were locals & the real-ale is good :)

Portree has several OK pubs, names escape me though.

The Stein Inn at Stein is pretty. And I've had some good nights at the Edinbane Hotel when Willie Shanky owned it, singing at the folk sessions. But I believe the current owners are keen on traditional music.

Depends on the type of hostelry you're after, probably best to try the first one you fancy when you get there, and take it from there :)

Forgot about there! It was dead quiet there a few weeks back but probably, I was a bit early-on. :)
