I've got to spend a week in a hotel near Brussels airport - most of the time I'm going to be working. Is there anything nearby worth visiting if I have a few spare hours one evening that is easy to get to?

Pretty much nothing nearby, if you're where I think you are (near NATO right?)
Best bet is to head into Brussels itself, which has some pretty nice stuff in it.

It's only twenty minutes by express train from Zaventem into Central Brussels isn't it

Edited to add:
Otherwise, my online Michelin Green Guide tells me:
Zaventem town is noted only for the Van Eyck painting of St Martin Sharing His Coat in St Martin's Church
BUT if work is paying, you could escape airport hotel food and get a cab to
a good local restaurant in a 13th century watermill:

Yes, it's very close. Brussels is quite nice at this time of the year. It's definately worthwhile going in, and it is very close.

Unfortunately I'm going there for a very specific task and basically have to stay there until it's done. I reckon if I put the hours I should be able to finish within the week - if I do I'll check out the city.
