I'm off to Islay in a week with me parents. Anyone been? Recommendations/tales? Would it be worth a day trip upto Colonsay, or should I save that for another trip? Cheers!

Well I had a lovely time anyway :P It pissed down all day in Colonsay though! Some crackin beaches over that way. Oh, and Ardbeg was my favourite. The Islay ales were quite nice too.
I am going next month. Yay! Should be cold n wet. Smashing! :) :)

Damn, just saw this! :(
I went to Islay a few years ago. Cycled round most of the island and had a fantastic time in the distilleries and pubs (it was that kind of holiday). Did you enjoy the whisky?

Oh, those pics! Sorry. Crossed purposes. :o
Yes, they're very nice. :)
The round church (http://www.pbase.com/sasaferrato/image/25249242) thing is something I've always been fascinated by; no corners for Lucifer to hide in! :D Cheerful lot, these Hebridean Presbyterians!

Yep.
I like that photo, the harbour ones as well. It was a crisp morning.
There's one on George Street in Edinburgh as well, I think that they are the only two in the UK.
