View Full Version : Pubs with the word London in the name
Me and a friend are planning to try and visit every pub in London that has the word "London" in its name. So far, with the help of the internet, we've come up with these:
London and Brighton, Peckham
London & Rye, Catford
London Apprentice, Isleworth
London Pub, Bloomsbury
London Regalia, London Bridge
London Stone, Cannon St
Safari London, Streatham
North London Tavern, Kilburn
South London Pacific, Kennington
London Fields, Hackney
London Scotia Bar, Bermondsey
The Country Pub in London, Pimlico
Ye Olde London, St Paul's
Does anyone know of any others? Any suggestions much appreciated...

My suggestion is that you stay away from the London & Brighton. It's a shithole by Peckham standards - going some, that is.
Nice idea though!

Where's that?
440 Streatham High Road - in stratospherically gentrifying "lower Streatham" i.e. close to the Streatham Common Sainsbury's

IIRC the "London Pub" in Bloomsbury is in effect the hotel bar of the Royal National Hotel - London's largest tourist hotel with all the charm of a Brezhnev era Soviet establishment. Think the "pub" did get a recent makeover, but that won't have changed the predominant clientele of confused Americans on cheap package holidays.

Think it is/was a gay bar. Naked Ruby (who play in the Windmill) used to play there quite frequently. Looks like a fun place

I understand that although the tiki bar decor is the height of kitsch/camp, SLP is several divisions less "in your face" these days...
... it's gained the wonderful South London Pacific. Almost everytime I've been there it's been fantastic fun - just don't order food for parties - it's rubbish and pricey.
Older lags may remember South London Pacific as 'The Cock' a subtlely named gay pub. ;)
[waits for Bob to arrive and once again exhort a group trip to South London Pacific to sample their lethal cocktails]
I must try it out then! I shall stop by on the way home next week n have a pint. :)
The London Scotia Bar in Bermondsey Street is no more - it has reverted to being the Woolpack.
Thanks for the info.

Have you been there/seen it recently? Just cos the internet says it's now called The Goose (http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/14/14157/Goose_At_Fenchurch/Fenchurch_Street).
