How so - you didn't really think Adobe were going to promote GoLive over Dreamweaver, did you?
God no but I didn't think they would just bring out another studio box.
They say they now have better integration but it just looks like Adobe lost out to me- and another way for Macromedia to squeeze a bit of money out of people.
Does that make sense?

Some quite cool things in it now, like visual authoring of XML - and it supports CSS a little better, but I still prefer Bradbury Topstyle for that, feature i quite liked - but never used was the digest authentication and SSL for secure servers.
but the best part is the ZoooooooooooooooooooooooM :D
but yeah, we're (well me) sticking with mx and topstyle :)

Freehand not included in this package but Fireworks is still there thank god. there is a lot to be said for PS but in terms of producing most web graphics quickly nothing beats Fireworks.
Most print designers seems to use Illustator so getting files off Illustator and bringing them into Firework as editable pngs files would make a real difference.
Fireworks is fucking awful, I could never get over the audacity that Macromedia had with Freehand either... they expected people to pay for that shit? I can knock you out web graphics far quicker in PS than I can in Fireworks (although I do know the interface with my eyes closed)

Firky that is just an opinion a lot of very talented people use Freehand and Fireworks it is a matter of preference but to dismiss a product because you don't use it is arrogant.

I never dismissed it because I don't use it, I dismissed it in my "oh so professional" opinion :p . I've tried my hand at dozerns of graphics suites, and macromedia is the worst of the bunch. Corel, aint too bad.
I'd have to undo about 10 years of photoshop experience to get my head around macromedia... can't do that :)
one is for print mainly, and one is for the web mainly so they have two very different ethoses.

I like fireworks. Am I the only one. It is not a replacement for PS but I find I can do things quickly in it for most web graphics.
My copy is winging it's way to me but I'm gonna stick with 2004 for the minute (and handcoding)
Opinions?? :D
On Photoshop v Fireworks I'm with Firky, but PS won't run on my computer
fireworks is just so unwieldy when you're used to photoshop; everything's in the wrong place and tools behave differently.
