Surely if we are going to deport preachers of Hate, then it would be just as good an idea to deport their apologists too.

If people were deported for sucking up to Islam, Livingstone would be in the departure lounge with a lot of other fools. They'd include not only the Social Workers and their ilk, but also Blair, Brown (who says Muslims are "modern heroes"), many other members of the government and umpteen others.

The appropriate penalty is much milder. In Livingstone's case it should simply consist of being confronted with evidence of Qaradawi's unpleasant fatwas until he admits that he lied about Qaradawi.

This assumes Livingstone understands the notion of truth & therefore lies--like his soulmate Blair, he doesn't.

UK's most senior directly elected politician. He's more of a personal mandate than that fucker Blair.

in relation to the first post livingstone would be subject to a control order as a british citizen(i assume he is one), not deported, under the proposed laws

If people were deported for sucking up to Islam...So why don't you explain to me what 'sucking up to Islam' really means in your book JHE?

From many of your past posts all I get is the impression that you are just another fuckwit who seeks to stir up general fuckwittery against all muslims

Explain yourself

Where you going to deport him to, the Isle of White ?

Didn't Blair recently advocate removing citizenship from certain people or groups?

Paisley had the biggest vote of any politician in the EU at one point (he may still have)

As for bigotry, Ken Livingstone's rhetoric (pre London bombs) has always been to divide London up into a hundred and one ethnic groups (apart from white people of course, whom he never mentions as a group at all) Paisley only has two groups to choose from, and supports one.

Take your pick as to who is worse.

I personally prefer a colour blind, class based approach, but then again I don't read the Guardian.

how can you remove british citizenship from someone who acquired it by birth?

I'm not a lawyer, Blair however is - "4. We have already powers to strip citizenship from those individuals with British or dual nationality who act in a way that is contrary to the interests of this country. We will now consult on extending these powers, applying them to naturalised citizens engaged in extremism and making the procedures simpler and more effective." - http://www.guardian.co.uk/attackonlondon/story/0,16132,1543386,00.html

As far as I understand citizenship isn't just about living somewhere but importantly about free movement, being able to leave freely and be readmitted again - "1. What is British citizenship? People who are closely connected with the United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) and, in most cases, the British overseas territories (see paragraph 3 below) are British citizens. British citizens have the right to live here permanently and are free to leave and re-enter the United Kingdom at any time." - http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/ind/en/home/applying/british_nationality/advice_about_nationality/bn1_-_british_citizenship.html
