off to Dublin on thursday, been before but not for a while. Any Dubs with ideas on good stuff to see. We are doing the full tourist hit so have plenty on behan, the writers museum, gpo trinity, lietery pub crawl etc.
i have not done either the guiness or jamesons tours before - anyone know what they are like?
any suggestions for the cheaper , unknown, more alternative side of things, between us we have a liking for - art deco, music (from christy moore to the clash and all stops inbetween), art, installations, indie film, theatre, comedy, shopping (one of us, not me). we are going to see 'importance of being ernest on thursday' - where should we drink before after.

we don't mind th tourist stuff but want to be able to escape it when possible, practical.

all help appreciated - i have done most of the websites that google came up with but if you know a particularly good site please recommend.

there's some nice pubs in drumcondra, a good one just after the archbishop's palace and before you get to botanic ave. and if you go a bit further up there's a top italian restaurant.

Go and see the Chester Beatty library in Dublin Castle.

An amazing collection of Islamic/Buddhist/confucian art.

You wont' regret it believe me.
