A couple who claimed to be vampires and killed a man by stabbing him more than 60 times in a satanic ritual were convicted of murder yesterday.

Daniel Ruda, 26, a former car-parts salesman, and his wife, Manuela, 23, were sentenced to 15 years and 13 years respectively in a secure psychiatric hospital, but the judge in the western German town of Bochum said the possibility that they could kill again meant they might never be released.

The pair had confessed to killing the man in their apartment surrounded by human skulls, cemetery lights, scalpels and incense * because the Devil ordered them to do so.

...

Manuela claimed she was first drawn to satanism during a visit to Britain. She told the court she drifted into the "gothic" scene after the Devil contacted her when she was 14. ...

In London she worked in a gothic club in Islington where she claims to have joined a group who attended "bite parties" and worshipped the Devil. "We drank blood from living people," she told police. "We slept on graves. One time we dug a grave and I slept in it, just to see what it would feel like." ...

Manuela met Daniel Ruda after she returned to Germany and answered a lonely hearts advertisement in a heavy metal magazine. It read: "Black-haired vampire seeks princess of darkness who despises everything and everybody and has bidden farewell to life."http://www.bilderberg-mirror.org.uk/sacrific.htm#Vampire

does anyone know more about this strange vampyrick lot in london?

pardon for the length of the c&p!

Goths: should cheer up and stop taking it all so seriously.

Goths: should cheer up and stop taking it all so seriously.i am not - at the moment - interested in what people think of goths, i am more interested in what people know about the satanick and vampyrick lot who appear to hang about a certain club in islington - or certainly did a few years ago.

Here's an interesting tale about the Highgate cemetery vampire and his modern day followers.... (http://www.amcgltd.com/archives/004453.html) may well be where the nutter in the story you pasted got involved...

There are a few idiots claiming to be creatures of the night in North London but fuck all that, get yourself to a library and read up on the Highgate vampire.;)

I remeber stories about the police finding corpses with the blood sucked out of them around the Highgate area back in the 70's, details of which they never released to the public.

The whole Highgate vampire story is very interesting except for one small and very annoying thing: the touchy and litigious "Bishop" Sean Manchester, a man so self-important he makes Kenneth Grant and Aleister Crowley look humble.

Yup, funny guy and a strange tale far more interesting than saddos who think they're vampires just because they've been listening to goth music too much...

I remember reading a great quote about these sorts of people in an article on the murder, where somebody interviewed one of the management of Slimelight about people who 'drink blood' and are keen on satanism. His comment was mostly along the lines of 'Yes, we have some of them, they're a bit stupid, really'. :D

I'm so curious...i may have to check it out too. I've got a couple of spare goths hanging around, so i may get them to come with me....just to be on the safe side, like. You can't be too careful with all this bloodsucking and stuff that's about :D

I don't think i'm making sense today. 6 hour  dj set last night, home at 5am and an awful hangover...

I assume you're talking about 'Dead and Buried'. I've been thinking of going... the next one's on Friday (5th August) and I might go along if people are going - can't stay too late as have a BBQ to host the next day, but it's not too far from home!

i've only heard of mr manchester thru' david farrant, who is hardly on objective source. i mean he goes on a bit, too, don't he??? the two pamphlets i have by farrant on the whole highgate vampire case in the 70's (which he claims still to be 'open'!!!) are ridiculous, and hilariously repetitive when it comes to him clearing his name after being nicked twice, and dealing with his arch-nemesis sean manchester. if there is a curious story to be had in the highgate vampire david farrant is not the man to tell it - if he ain't mentally ill he's clearly gullible to the point of childishness.

still, good for laff :D

Goths and vampire loves : incomprehensible sunshine aversion being their main problem ....

Sorry PM, I appreciate that's not quite on topic ...

The Nelson was a crackin boozer and 5minutes away from where I used to live. Must be weird being frequented by goths

I think I know the sort you went to listen too
