looking to go to wales for a short break at the end of august or thereabouts, can anyone recommend somewhere nice?
we'd like somewhere near/on a beach where you can have a campfire. also, we don't drive so places way off the beaten track might not be suitable. i don't know wales very well, been to pwllheli once, so any advice would be gratefully received.
:)
Go the Gower, its lovely!
There was a thread on ehre about it recently that included stuff about campsites.
there are some beautiful spots around Marloe/Marloe Sands...in Pembrokeshire, right on the coast...beautiful bays, near to Skomer
North Wales is fab. castles EVERYWHERE. There is a great campsite just outside Conwy, with great facilities, but can't remember what it's called. Anywhere along the Llyn Peninsula is fairly close to the sea.

It was my thread in the Wales forum but it appears to have been deleted. :(

I love shell island..brilliant sand dunes.
i camped with my gf and nephew in holy head for a night this summer. there's a beautiful little beach there and if i recall the campsite was only a 10 minute walk away or so. the showers were nice and clean (you had to buy tokens, but it was dirt cheap) and the fare was only £9 for the three of us. you really can't beat that sort of value!! :)
