I know how it works!

It changes the symbols to match up all numbers divisable by X

I think X is 9, can't remember for sure, freaked me out the first time I used it.

yes, it's 9, because if you subtract the digits of the number you thought of from the number, it's always divisible by 9.

(10x+y) - (x+y) = 9x
