Jesus was born from a virgin, as are mushrooms, unlike flowering plants, no sexual intercourse takes place in the lifecycle of mushrooms

Note the lack of Caesar in the jesus story too. What with him being dead well before J/c was born and all that.

similar :) (iceisforming made that exact comparison on a thread ages ago)

the divine controller, is the sculptor of the block universe, the transcendent God

Caesar in the Jesus story, is the 'divinely ordained' leader of the society

The fat controller was sculpted from a block of wood.

Anyone remember that programme 'goodness gracious me' and the character who claimed everything was Indian?

    In fact remarkably similar:

    Good for them.

Answer my question please. (and tell me why you think someone dead before Jesus was born is part of the jesus story), I think the two answers might be connected.

we could just add something like 'spirituality, religion and mysticism' to the title of this forum

i think the transcendent unity of religions can be heard, in similarities in religious music.

the Jesus myth, and the formation of Christianity, arose as a kind of counterattack to the Roman honour/shame social system, and the idea of divinely ordained leaders like Caesar

but he controlled all the trains, just as God controls the universe

By creating a divinely ordained leader (the messiah)?

Apart from the rather obvious fact that Caeser never claimed to be divinely ordained, the very opposite in fact (do you have any grasp of ancient history?). Ceaser is never mentioned in the 'jesus story'.

The idea that a divenely ordained leader arose to counter attack the notion of a divenly ordanied leader needs a little work too.

You mistook a regional boss (Pilate) for Octavius/Augustus.

i don't know. i just found a wiki article, and religious music actually looks very diverse. i had something in mind tho, lots of voices overlapping, harmonies, sweet sounds, a rising up to the heavens... that kind of thing.

Jesus was not leader of the Roman society, but the Jesus myth, and the religion that arose from it, was designed to transform the society

Ok, i'm assuming less that 50%

    Max.

Have you read less that 25% of the bible?
    ditto of the koran?

  28. max_freakout

christianity was a 'rival rewriting' of the Caesar cult, it was designed to transform it

Overlapping harmonies are called polyphony which is a relatively recent invention (early middle ages) of the medieval European church, it grew up out of the Gregorian chant tradition and is thought to be distinct from the Byzantine music of the time (of which we have very few records) which used instrumentals.

Ok. (Mills and boon history it is)

Have you read less that 25% of the bible?
    ditto of the koran?
