Are we going to have a better season or the same old? We have signed Barry and are in talks with Inter Milan for Samuel Eto'o for a cool £30m. Which other players do you think are heading our way?
Elano out and Jo back in ensures that we have a willing Brazillian contingency. Kaka signing for Real along with Platini's silence on the matter is a bit of a continental sized bitch-slap. We may need a new song for Tevez, ''You've never shagged an ugly bird Tevez, Tevez... Carlos Tevez is a superstud'' perhaps? Sootysoots to defect from South stand to Kippax? Top 5 at best this season IMO.
GET IN! Best new kit in the Prem! Kudos to Umbro ... We'll be playing in a classic 1969/70 retro home kit AND a black away kit AND a Peru-style third kit (which we had way back when an all) ... http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/6935/citykit1.jpg already on sale down your local boozer in Longsight ... gx
Blimey it's a bit tumbleweed round here considering we are in for a shout for just about every player this summer for the first time in our lives. GIVEN BRIDGE - LESCOTT - TERRY - RICHARDS SWP - IRELAND - BARRY ROBINHO TEVEZ - RSC ... is not a bad XI! I'd ditch Bridge, but we've only just bought him. If Terry doesn't happen - and the jury is still out - I'd snap up Lucio in a flash (captain of Brazil and dumped by Bayern!) There's some quality on the bench too - PETROV, BOJINOV, JOHNSON, BELLAMY, KOMPANY, ELANO, DE JONG, ZABALETA In fact, it's hard to make a starting XI leaving out any of those! We are nearly there with a team well capable of scaring the shit out of the top four. I think we've got the best midfield in the country and the strike force is up there. This is going to be the most amazing season ever! How high can we go? Come on bluenoses, make some NOISE!!! gx
that starting 11 isn't going to happen. No where near it. looks like micah richards has swine flu and is stuck in cyprus untill he is fully recovered. dave
How do you mean nowhere like it? Eight of the 11 are already in place. Tevez will be next. That leaves Lescott (probable, I'd say) and Terry (highly unlikely but you never know). Club says Richards is ok. gx
dont reckon tevez will go to you lot and you danm sure wont get both terry and lescott and to be honest will be suprised if you get even lescott, he has uefa cup football next year with everton and will need europe to make sure he gets an england berth next year. dave
Players only go to 'Citeh' for the money, plus you now have a culture of players looking over their shoulder wondering if they will be the next who are on the way out. Also anyone you enter talks with know they can take the piss when it comes to a fee. Seems a very expensive way to finish 8th in the league. How many strikers do you now have ? 12 ?
buying all the players is one thing, getting them to all play coherently is completly another. mark huges has achived something i guess, but is not a proven manager yet at a club that has been sucessful, so its a learning curve for the whole club. new owners, new players, managers first real big test - yes could go well, but could also go very horribly wrong. will certainly make for an interesting season, and if it puts the willies up the top four then im all for it. chelseas outrage at a written offer for terry is pathetic. how bloody dare they!
Looks like a better team than the other Manchester's TBH. Get rid of SWP though. Tries hard but so, so bad.
Manchester City is delighted to announce that agreement has been reached with Carlos Tevez over a proposed move to the City of Manchester Stadium. Personal terms with the 25-year-old have been concluded and the deal has been ratified by the Premier League and the Football Association. After a medical Carlos, who has won the league title in every country in which he has played, is expected to sign a five-year contract and will meet up with his new teammates on their pre-season tour to South Africa. He will sport the number 32 shirt. The only player to named South American Player of the Year in three successive seasons, Carlos has recently concluded a summer break following his successful World Cup exploits with Argentina. "It is terrific news," a delighted Mark Hughes told mcfc.co.uk. "Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all the attributes that will help drive this club forward. "He is not only outstanding technically but he is a reliable goal scorer and someone who will contribute fully to the team ethic. He gives us another exciting, attacking dimension. "I cannot wait to welcome him to City. This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner Sheikh Mansour to make this club the very best it can possibly be. I am sure our fans will give Carlos an exceptionally warm welcome." Tevez signs after an extended loan spell at Old Trafford where he spent two seasons and clocked up 99 league and cup starts and bagged 34 goals. He has previously spent a season at West Ham United having made his name in his homeland with Boca Juniors before transferring in 2005 to Brazilian club Corinthians. Carlos’ scoring ratio with Boca was better than one in three games and he improved that to better than one in two at his second club. Like Blues teammate Pablo Zabaleta, Tevez has an Olympic gold medal though from Athens in 2004 not last year in Beijing. He has clocked up 50 senior caps for his country. http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2009/July/carlos-tevez-agrees-deal
There is some terrible bitching going on over at the Red Cafe boards http://www.xxxxxxxxredcafe.net/f6/tevez-united-fans-will-forgive-me-256780/ Remove 'x's and paste into browser
im proper shocked by that. can't belive a champions league or uefa cup team didn't want to spend the money. Glad he is still in the premiership though, dave
Better buy some decent defenders though, but at least Tevez is one who always tries though, not like Robinho, who last season did pretty much nothing away from home for them.
ha! Thing is, there's a couple of ITKs (in the knows) on the man city forums who are ahead of the press and have proved themselves over the last few months. The Adebayor bid was shouted days ago and has just made the headlines. We now have nine strikers! The ITKs still maintain that Eto'o is not all over, that Terry will happen and that Lescott will follow. We'll see if that starting XI might just happen. Carlitos! Welcome! gx
