See, I thought Italy had it in the bag when they let Spain come on for 60 minutes and knew they could deal with them til next Wednesday if necessary. Then they made some supposedly positive changes which didn't work and they could also have played til next Wednesday without scoring as it turned out they had no one of the ability of Pirlo or Gattuso to give Toni a good ball. In the end it was a pretty shocking Italian team but they played to win with the resources they had...and almost did!

Thought Italy played as well as they could have done with the resources they had, as stated. Yeah they could have gone gung ho and been stuffed, as it was they gave themselves the best chance they could. And I stand by my statement that I enjoy watching good sides playing more tactical matches. I want to watch football, not circus clowns. They usually have blokes on at half time who can juggle for hours but they're shit footballers. And for TL's benefit - I was talking to my flatmate and posting my anthems poll. Hope that's excusable.
