About three years ago barely anyone had hear of HTC but they sure have made a name for themselves now. I wonder how much bigger they'll grow? As an aside, last week just about every single person we were with had a HTC phone. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/29/htc-outlook-idUSL3E7FT1HU20110429
That is an amazing stat. I don't even remember seeing much advertising for them either, and I have a TV, use the internet and like (and buy) smartphones so I'm hardly outside their demographic.
I'd never heard of them before I got my Magic, and now I have a Desire. They have both been good, solid and reliable devices, and I rate the Sense software too, it's better than the Motorola or Samsung homebrew. I do worry* for them a bit in the patent wars, they don't have much to trade with compared to the likes of Apple. Google will probably back them up though. * not actually worry, to be clear, but they are vulnerable.
Looks like it's Android driving the ringing cash tills: And they're going to get even bigger: http://www.techradar.com/news/phone...-200-rise-in-profits-thanks-to-android-950861
