So, is the clashfinder done yet? I'm most excited about- Nick Cave Blur Jarvis Cocker Neil Young but there is shitloads on there I want to see. I've never seen The Rockingbirds so that will be good. E17 should be cringeworthy but entertaining.
Shit the bed - Tom Jones! However, I'm going to be in a real quandary come Saturday evening as I cannot possibly see Rolf Harris, The Wonderstuff, Jarvis Cocker and Franz Ferdinand all at the same time! Nice to see The Prodigy sneaking on there, though.
Sunday at the Pyramid stage is hilarious. Status Quo Tony Christie Amadou & Mariam Tom Jones Madness Nick Cave Blur Plus Spinal Tap on Saturday! I'd actually like to see all of those. I am now officially old.
Can't see who the Saturday night headliner at the Jazz stage would be. Maybe they haven't announced that yet? Unless A&M are playing late there too. Seems odd they're just doing one slot.
Looks like a load of shit - but I see DJ yoda there, I used to hang out with him but haven't seen him for many years, I hear he is sort of famous now.
Neil Young is there, as are Crosby Stills and Nash. Hopefully they'll team up and play 'Deja Vu' in it's entirety in an unannounced set on a makeshift stage up at the stone circle. Or is that one of those things that never happens in real life?
some brilliant acts there, cant wait However Im not at all excited about Status Quo they were shite in the 80's.... dont want to waste time seeing them now or Blur.... not bothered in the slightest... all a load of overhyped rubbish and springsteen... ok, take him or leave him to be honest Looks like Ill be spending time away from the pyramid and Other stages to see who I want which really pleases me I hope that kids are allowed in some of the dance stages... kids will be gutted if they cant see some of their faves
Looks fucking brilliant; if I manage to go i'll be well excited about Neil Young, and then some of the dubstep acts, and the bane-of-the-music-forum acts like... Eat Static and Banco De Gaia Roots Manuva and DJ Food too, s'good stuff indeed. Anyway it look like a great line up, although of course, being Glastonbury you get more than you bargain for and leave having found something new and engaging anyway...
Halvin's exceptionally useful clashfinder can be found here It's an early draft, he promises to keep updating it as he nails down more details.
"Official Secrets" on the line up? Is that 'The Official Secret Act'. I think they are managed or PR'd by an ex of mine.....
Our age difference becomes more and more apparent as the evening wears on young William I dont even know who several of these are....... Status Quo Tony Christie Amadou & Mariam Tom Jones Madness Nick Cave Blur I do know that Status Quo are absolute bastards though TJ is alright as well.
You've outed me for the oldster I am ... If you did come along, you could guarentee that you'd find plenty of stuff you loved anywhere and everywhere on site. The real gems are further down the lists usually, IME ...
I must admit I think the headliners dullish, just as well I don't go for that. (I'm older than William, btw, so doubt age comes into it. I have always considered Springsteen totally pointless. Tom Jones? No thanks, I hated him when I was 16, 40 years later, nothing's changed. Glasvegas? Now you're talking, saw them last year on the John Peel stage and was absolutely blown away by them. I listen to them in the car almost every day.
After looking at the line up I feel a bit better about opting not to go. Altho if I DID go I'd probably chance upon a few things to make it worthwhile (other than The Specials and Neil Young who I advise everyone to see)
If they're who I'm thinking of they're pretty good and touring with Art Brut who are amazing. They're playing on the other stage. I can't stand springsteen or tom but I'm really looking forward to Neil Young even though I don't really know that much of his stuff.
