It's a bit different. Lescott is your top scorer. Alonso scores about as often as Carragher. The minute Alonso put in his transfer request, we flogged him. You'll look at Lescott not as an Everton player, but as a player who wants to leave for a bigger club.
Financially they are bigger than everyone. There is no doubt they will be dominating English football in the next decade.
He is not our top scorer, and has never been since he arrived. Last season he got 5 goals, Cahill and Fellaini got 9 goals each. edit: also Man City are always capable of fucking things up spectacularly.
I know about Man City. Their experiment in the 1980s was classic fuck up. However, it's a "whole new ball game" these days. Give any club unlimited funds or substantially more funds than it's competitors and it will rise to the top. As Rafa would say - this is a fact.
Will they though? They have to compete against clubs which have either similar levels of money or which have a bit less cash but are more attractive for footballing reasons, and (one would think) at least three of those clubs will still have access to the Champions League pot of gold.
Various outlets suggest we will be signing Ever Banega on loan (with a view to a £12 million permanent deal) for the season in the next couple of days. http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport-ne...get-argentina-ace-ever-banega-55578-24446495/ http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/15/joleon-lescott-everton-manchester-city-transfer-saga In all seriousness, if Moyes can get him right in his head (and not wanking into a webcam) then this could be a great deal.
Do all virgin subscribers get ESPN free for a month and then it's just the XL mofo's who continue to recieve it?
