Bra help

  1. kalidarkone Breaking in my bra

I have gone down a band size, but the bra measurement guide I have says that if you go down a band size you then go up a cup size:confused:

Why? Can someone explain-is this really correct?
  2. spanglechick Mighty Morphing Flower Arranger

it really is correct, yes. if it's only the band that is too big the you go down a back size and up a cup size. cup sizes are proportionate to the band size, rather than being a transferrable measure of volume.

Can I ask a question too?
I have a bra which seems to fit well in the cups without overspill but it keeps riding up slightly on the back. What's going on man? I liked that bra but now it's a hassle as I have to keep adjust it, has my back gotten fatter without me realising?

No. All bras have a limited lifespan. When you buy a new bra it should fit on the loosest fitting, so you can tighten it twice as it gets baggier. Once it's baggy and you can't tighten it any more, it's time for a new bra.

However, if it is relatively new, you must have lost weight, not gained it. Or at least, your back is thinner. That's what riding up at the back means: too big, not too small.

They should teach you about bra sizes at school. It's simple to understand when you know but nobody seems to bother telling girls about it.:(

Is there an equation that can explain this? I am unlikely ever to need to use it but it may be applicable in other areas of life, eg, reducing the amount of butter or flour a recipe requires if you are adding ground almonds or dried fruit.

    That's what I thought.
And no matter what it says, it does not look at all supportive for the bigger busted lady.

Agreed. I don't care how many colours it comes in, that one may be underwear but it's not lingerie.
  20. Greebo nunc obdurat et tunc curat ludo mentis aciem

Didn't look like it'd be much use (for shape definition) below a C cup either.
  21. dilute micro esse quam videri

Because on tv they say it's wonderful.

Yes you can. Pay me enough and I can look happy and pleased. :p

Aww, I love bras like that. Admittedly they probably don't class as lingerie but I'm not wildly bothered by shape definition. :( Flashing any cleavage is a bit of a faux pas in China so those sort of bras are perfect for wearing under strappy tops and still staying within the boundaries of acceptable dress. :)

I fully accept that if you struggle to get pretty bras at the best of times then that bra is probably adding insult to injury though!

Just bought a fab bandeau bra - masquerade brand. A 'Rhea' in antique ice.

Feels like no tits. Going to order a load online.
