That is actually a pretty damn good lineup! But I still can't get out of my head my notion that bestival would be like T4 in a field.
That was my fear but I have been thoroughly disavowed of that and am going this year. I will let you know if I was lied to.
To be honest, that line up doesn't really do it for me. There's enough there but nothing that would have been the difference between going and not going.

I'm a cynical, anti social bastard, I don't think I could stand to be in a field for too long with a load of teenagers wearing brightly coloured leggings and having fun. I'm sure its not that bad, I am judging it entirely on some tv coverage I saw (probably on T4 ) which is a bit unfair of me.
Not that many teenagers when I went, or at least I didn't notice them being annoying. It is a dance festival though, not a hippy folk affair
^^^^^^^ Yeah, bit of an older crowd so you don't get the 15 year old kids away from the 'rents for the first time spazzy out on strongbow. I went Bestival for the first time last year & had more fun than I've had at any other festival in years, even with the mud. I like the lack of po-faced guitar bands & the genuine feeling of good will on the site. Also, I'm a bit of a sucker for fancy dress & bleepy dance music.
Yep. It's mostly a festival for cainers. Everyone appears to be off their face (be it drunk or whatever else takes their fancy) all the time Real party atmosphere
It's a legal rave in a field, with ace music all the time, and loads of extras, the bars are great! Lionman - your post could be me.
That was definitely true when we went (in 2007) But any cainers there might happen to be, should watch out for coppers and dogs at the perimeter, the IoW branch of the Hampshire Police are notorious We can't make it this year, our festie budget won't stretch to it. Line up looks good but it is expensive.
Yep, tis true, plenty of sniffer dogs as you go in normally - though last year I must've timed it just right as there were none. Result

Lordy - I'd go just for Kraftwerk, then go home again edit: I wish I hadn't looked at their website. They're doing 3 concerts at the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, which would be my idea of the Best Thing Ever, but they're sold out. I feel sick to the very pit of my stomach.
