A tree has blown onto a house on the high street of the village where I went to primary school. Bit worried about my parents now (they live three miles or so from there and have a 300-year-old oak tree thirty feet from the house)
Byres road shut to through traffic - falling building cladding. My work shut at 1 - unprecedented, they didn't even let us going more than 30 mins early in the winter blizzards last year.
I can vouch for this - aberdeen city council does have a penchant for crap christmas lights (2007 & 2008)

Those were the ones they just replaced. Although they did find and reinstate the leapoard outside HMT that "got lost" a few years back.
